Below is a letter my sister and her husband wrote today. They have not been able to have children, and are going through the adoption process. It is VERY expensive and they need help! Christopher is going to school for his doctorate right now, so $$ is tight. They have already been chosen by a birth mom, and are applying for grants and such, but anyone who wants to make a tax deductible gift to their fund would be such a blessing!!! Here is their letter, and PLEASE pass this on to anyone you know who might want to help!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
As many of you already know, we are in the process of adopting a child through Bethany Christian Services, and we are so excited! It has been our dream since we met to have children; it is still our dream. While it has not worked out the way we envisioned it, we are certain that God has planned all along for us to be in this very place. Just a few short months ago on August 19th, 2009, we attended our first informational meeting at Bethany in Cedar Rapids, IA.
It is now December and we find ourselves in the middle of an adoption that God willing will happen in January. It’s a bumpy situation. There is a very young girl; her name is Kayla (she’s 14), who has chosen us to adopt her child. She is due January 27th, 2010. We were excited to get started so quickly and to be chosen so quickly-God’s hands have been all over this- but the reality is that it does not leave us much time to raise support.
We chose Bethany Christian Services because we support their mission to care for and support women who are choosing life for their babies-it’s a great mission! Bethany supports any pregnant woman who contacts them for help. They support with pre-natal care, counsel, rent, pay bills, whatever the needs are. About one-third of the women they serve in Iowa make adoption plans. Because of their mission to support all pregnant women the cost of domestic adoption is quite high. We are applying for several grants around the country, but none of them will completely cover our costs.
We are trusting God to show us his awesome power and magnificence through this adoption. We cannot see today how it is possible, but we are trusting that will be! We believe that it will become an amazing part of our testimony about God’s love and provision for His children. This is where you come in…
We are called to follow through with our desire to adopt a child, this child!
There are two ways that you can help us:
1. Commit to praying for us, for our birth mom, the baby, the caseworkers, all of us! You can stay updated by following our blog at: http://jchfashun.blogspot.com we post the latest news and prayer requests here. We know so many of you are already doing this, and we are so grateful. We thank you for your continued prayers and support.
2. Should you be called to further action because you feel strongly about adoption and helping us grow our family through this great ministry at Bethany you can also make a monetary gift in any amount. § You can make a tax-deductible gift by going to the following website: http://www.thevinemadison.info and hitting the donate button. Simply put it in the box marked "adoption fund".
If it is not possible for you to use the online donation resource, you may mail your donation to: The Vine Church c/o Parkview Church 15 Foster Rd. Iowa City, IA 52242 Write the check to The Vine, with ‘adoption fund’ written in the memo.
You can also send non-deductible gifts directly to us: Christopher and Jessica Fashun 4447 Berkeley Ln. Iowa City, IA 52245
With gratitude and loving faithfulness,
Christopher and Jessica Fashun
